Transformer CT PT Diagnostic Device
Characteristics
A variety of tests are required to ensure the proper functioning and performance of current and potential transformers. The analyzer can be used to check numerous parameters and characteristics.
For current transformers, the analyzer can be employed to: determine the excitation characteristic and parameter values; measure the turns ratio; check for any ratio or phase errors; verify the polarity markings; measure the winding resistance; determine the loading characteristics of the secondary loop; test protection current transformers; measure transient parameters; deduce the nameplate specifications from test results; and plot the saturation hysteresis loop curve.
For potential transformers, the analyzer allows technicians to: measure the turns ratio; check for any ratio or phase errors; verify that polarity markings are correct; determine the loading characteristics of the secondary winding; and measure the winding resistance.
The CT/PT analyzer can also be utilized for: verifying nameplate information of current transformers; evaluating electrical parameters of current transformers under working load conditions; analyzing transient performance parameters; calibrating ratio and phase errors; and performing routine tests to ensure proper functioning.
