Brass bar is a bar shaped object made of copper and zinc alloy, named after its yellow color. Brass with copper content of 56%~68% has a melting point of 934~967 degrees. Brass has good mechanical properties and wear resistance, and can be used to manufacture precision instruments, ship parts, gun casings, etc.

58-3 copper rod and 59-1 copper rod belong to free cutting brass, which can be divided into environment-friendly brass rod and ordinary brass rod. The ordinary authentic 58-3 copper bars and 59-1 copper bars are extruded. The copper bars produced by ordinary continuous casting copper bars can not reach the performance in all aspects. The copper bars produced by extrusion process have good tensile strength, high hardness and high straightness. Generally, the amount of precision copper parts such as auto parts, medical parts and electrical accessories is relatively large.

Lead is practically insoluble in brass and distributed on the grain boundary as free particles. Lead brass has α And( α+β) Two. α Lead brass can only be cold deformed or hot extruded because of its harmful effect and low plasticity at high temperature. ( α+β) Lead brass has good plasticity at high temperature and can be forged.
Tin brass:
The addition of tin to brass can significantly improve the heat resistance of the alloy, especially the ability to resist seawater corrosion. Therefore, tin brass is called "naval brass".
Manganese brass:
Manganese has higher solubility in solid brass. The addition of 1%~4% manganese to brass can significantly improve the strength and corrosion resistance of the alloy without reducing its plasticity.
Iron brass:
In iron yellow copper, iron is precipitated as iron rich particles, which can be used as crystal nucleus to refine grains and prevent recrystallization grains from growing, thus improving the mechanical and technological properties of the alloy. Iron content in iron brass is usually below 1.5%.
Nickel brass:
Nickel and copper can form a continuous solid solution and expand significantly α Phase area. The corrosion resistance of brass in atmosphere and sea water can be significantly improved by adding nickel to brass. Nickel can also increase the recrystallization temperature of brass and promote the formation of finer grains.
